The grapes for this 100% Zinfandel were from Monte Rosso Vineyard, located in the Mayacamas Mountains and noted for red (iron oxide) soil. Following early morning harvest and hand sorting the wine was fermented and then aged in 2-3 year-old French oak for 16 months before bottling.
